Position: Trainer Community Manager

The National Democratic Training Committee offers free, interactive online and live training for Democratic candidates running for office. We aim to empower any Democrat who wants to be involved in local politics with the tools needed to be successful.

We believe by working with local candidates we accomplish three goals: improve the performance of every Democrat up and down the ticket, elect more Democrats to office, and create a deeper bench of qualified candidates for higher office.

To accomplish these goals, NDTC is creating a long-term, scalable, recruitment, training, and placement program with an emphasis on empowering historically underrepresented communities to begin careers in Democratic politics.

This program consists of a blended online and live training schedule and includes ongoing and post-election professional development to help trainees build careers across election cycles. 

Job Description

NDTC is seeking a Trainer Community Manager (TCM) to manage relationships with all 50+ NDTC live trainers and ensure quality and cohesion throughout the live training program. This individual will be responsible for working closely with all trainers before, during, and after live training events to ensure needs are met and feedback is compiled. This person will serve as the main point of contact for all trainers and will work closely with the NDTC in-house live training team to ensure consistency across programs and curriculum.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between NDTC live trainers and the in-house NDTC training team.

  • Moderate and build community amongst trainers by responding to comments, feedback, concerns, when appropriate, in order to foster a positive environment and add value to the user’s experience.

  • Summarize insights and conversations to create actionable, NDTC-facing reports that lead to program improvements.

  • Track performance metrics and advise on personnel decisions

  • Create and maintain Content Calendars, including writing blogs and developing social media content.

  • Attend live training events as needed.

  • Work closely with the NDTC in-house live training team to ensure program cohesion.

Position Requirements:

  • Ability to form and build long-term relationships.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • 2-3 years of experience managing teams and/or social media platforms.

  • Scrappy and has the ability to take on big tasks with limited resources.

  • Experience in Google Suites.

  • Have experience working across departments or teams within an organization.

  • Are outcomes focused, well-organized, and have a sense of humor.

  • Work well with deadlines and fast-paced environments.

  • Are able to communicate effectively and build relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders, trainees, staff, and others.

This full-time position reports to the Deputy Live Training Director and is located in downtown Chicago.

Salary is commensurate with experience, with a range of $40,000 - $50,000 per year. NDTC offers a strong benefits package including health insurance with the employee premium paid-in-full by NDTC, a 10% employer match on contributions to 401(k), short and long-term disability and life insurance, as well as a flexible paid time off policy.
