Role and Responsibilities:

The Director of Training is responsible for producing, maintaining and expanding the NDTC’s online training program, which trains Democratic candidates across the country.

Responsibilities include managing the creation, filming, and production of new lessons, materi-als, webinars, blogs, bootcamps and more, while managing budgetary expectations.

Collaborating on a strategic a plan for expansion of the NDTC training program, including hiring and managing staff, consultants and additional resources as necessary.

The Director of Training will report to the CEO.

 

What the Director of Training does (in plain English):

You’re responsible for training candidates. That means writing and filming the videos and other materials we use in the trainings. You’re also responsible for the “user experience” of the candi-dates on the site. Don’t worry. There’s a budget and group of professionals to help you with this.

Oh yeah, you have to be fun to work with, appreciate good humor, and not take yourself too se-riously. Applicants who make us smile and laugh will score extra points.

 

Who We are Looking For:

Ideal candidates will have multiple years of experience in Democratic politics, including on the ground as campaign staff and as a trainer.

Experience building or strengthening political organizations.

In depth knowledge of electoral campaign strategy and tactics.

Experience in video production.

Ability to develop and maintain a variety of relationships on a variety of levels.

Ability to hire, supervise and develop staff.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a timely manner and keep track of a variety of projects. Excellent planning and organizational skills, including strategic planning.

Excellent oral and written communications skills, including the ability to make presentations, plan and develop materials and conferences.

Ability to inspire confidence of others with personal authority, leadership skills and a collegial work style.

 

Salary & Geography

This is a senior level position and salary is commensurate with experience. The NDTC is based in Chicago, IL and ideal candidates would live/work here. We’re open to discussing tele-com-muting options.

The NDTC is an organization dedicated to creating and offering free campaign training to any and every Democrat running for public office or leadership role across the country.
